Foreword

In conjunction to our previous international conference, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, UniversitasNegeri Padang is proudly to host a prestigious international conference namely The 2ndINTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CULINARY, FASHION, BEAUTY, AND TOURISM (ICCFBT) 2019 thatwill be held in Padang, West Sumatera, Indonesia on 09th-10th of September, 2019 which fullysupported by the Universitas Negeri Padang. The congress will address the most important issues oncullinary, fashion, beauty and tourism around the world. It will have a strong focus on the opportunitiesand challenges on this emerging sectors.On Monday, 09th of September, 2019, speech from our keynote speakers and invited speakers withthe topics of:Culinary, Fashion, Beauty, and Tourism On Tuesday, 10th of September, 2019, all the presenters will deliver his research findings with thetopics of:Policy on Culinary, Fashion, Beauty and Tourism Education and Training on Culinary, Fashion, Beauty and Tourism, Management on Culinary, Fashion, Beauty and Tourism Entrepreneurship on Culinary, Fashion, Beauty and Tourism. Innovation and development on Culinary, Fashion, Beauty and Tourism. Beside that, some workshops also has been conducted on certain date.

Introduction

Tourism, as a major sector in the worldeconomy, has become an economic mainstayfor both developed and developing countries,including Indonesia.As globalization and urbanization advance,the migration of people is on the rise. Thenumber of international tourists visitingdestinations worldwide is increasing rapidly,and countries and cities are now competing tocapture the inbound tourists that drive theireconomies and employment. In cities aroundthe world, initiatives such as airportdevelopment and easing of visa requirementsare moving forward to attract tourists andbusiness customers.The future of Indonesia tourism now looksright on track, especially since President JokoWidodo has continued to show hiscommitment to improve the tourism sector inIndonesia. The tourism sector this year isaiming for 20 million foreign tourists.There are still many things that must beresolved immediately to reach these target.One of the key factor is the readiness ofIndonesian human resources today toembrace a disruptive era that has changed themap of business organizations throughout theworld. FACULTY OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY, UNPThe Executive Committee of ICCFBT 2019 andits fellows from various parts of the worldhave chosen Padang as the place to hold aninternational conference. The first ICCFBTconferences were held in Padang in 2018.The goal of the Academy is to further thescholarly research and professionalinvestigation of tourism. Fellows of theAcademy are elected to membership on thebasis of their scholarly achievements andcontributions to our understandings.

Keynote Speakers

The first keynote speaker is Dr Ir. Arief Yahya, M.Sc. He was appointed as Minister of Tourism of Republic of Indonesia by newly elected Joko Widodo in 2014. In 2015, his ministry set a target to have 20 million foreign visitors by 2019, with visits that year numbering around 9 million per year. By 2017, the number had increased to 14 million.

 The Second Keynote speaker is Associate Professor Eka Diraksa Putra, PhD. He is from the Hongkong Polytechnique University, experienced Associate Professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry, Skilled in Analytical Skills, Market Research, Management, Leadership, and Data Analysis, and have Strong education professional with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD focused in Hospitality Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

 Third, Professor Dimitrios Buhalis is a Strategic Management and Marketing expert with specialization in Technology and Tourism. He is currently Established Chair in Tourism and Deputy Director of the International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research (ICTHR) at the School of Services Management at Bournemouth University and Professorial Observer at the Bournemouth University Senate. In April 2010 he was promoted to Professor 2 (or what is called a Distinguished Professor in other Universities), a level reserved for a small percentage of elite academicians. Professor Buhalis is leading eTourism research and is working with the Bournemouth team for introducing technology in all aspects of tourism research and teaching. In 2009 he led Bournemouth University successfully through the UNWTO.TedQual Certification Process and is the BU representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation. In recognition of his contribution to Tourism research, he was elected in August 2009, as a Fellow of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism. He was also elected as President of the International Federation of Information Technology for Travel and Tourism (IFITT) for the period 2010-2014. Dimitrios always enjoys going to the lab and works closely with many tourism and hospitality organisations and destinations around the world.

 Fourth is Associate Professor Mohd. Hanafi A damanhuri, PhD. He currently holds a dual position in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).  He is a lecturer at Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and he is also the current Principal of Tun Dr Ismail Residential College. He graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Hons.) in 2006 before pursuing his postgraduate study at Macquarie University, Sydney Australia and graduated with PhD in Molecular Neuroscience in 2012. Dr Hanafi was the recipient of IBRO/APRC Research Exchange Fellowship Award for 2015 where he went to Brain Mind Research Institute (BMRI), University of Sydney, Australia for his fellowship training. Dr Hanafi has a lot of interest in understanding how ageing affects the brain signalling and the molecular changes associated with brain ageing. He is currently investigating the molecular changes in the brain regions associated with cognitive functions by using state-of-the-art omics approaches. He is also interested to understand the effect of ageing in controlling feeding response. Apart from that, he is also working on a project that is looking at the effect of palm oil tocotrienol supplementation on the cognitive functions of transgenic Alzheimer’s disease (AD) mouse model. He has published a number of papers in peer-reviewed international journals including PLoS One, Journal of Neurochemistry and Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease. He has several research grants and is currently involved in many research projects and supervision of undergraduate medical students and postgraduate students in UKM.

 Fifth is Professor Irwandi Jaswir. After completing his PhD, Irwandi joined International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as an academic staff in 2001. Since then, Irwandi has held the various administrative post, from Programme Coordinator, Deputy Dean (Students Affairs), and Deputy Dean (Research Initiatives) at Research Management Centre. In 2011, he received his Professorship and currently is appointed as the Director, International Institute for Halal Research and Training (INHART) of IIUM. Irwandi also serves as the Secretary, IIUM Council of Professor. His initial research began with his interest in lipid peroxidation and antioxidative activities of natural products.  He then conducted studies on carotenoids and anti-cancer properties he started when he had 2-years fellowship in National Food Research Institute (NFRI), Japan, after receiving a prestigious Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) award. Currently, he is the principal researcher of 7 research projects, mostly in areas related to Halal Science, Food Biotechnology and Natural Products, funded by various funding agency such as the Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and National Plans for Science and Technology (NPST), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  Additionally, he is the co-researcher for another 14 on-going research projects. This is in addition to his 16 completed research projects where he was appointed as the principal investigator. To date, Irwandi has chalked up a remarkable achievement in research which includes: 75 scientific papers published in reputable international journals; contributed to 30 book-chapters; presented more than 150 research papers in international conferences – including keynote address and invited lectures; written more than 50 non-refereed and mass-media scientific articles. His dedication to research has enabled him to file 3 patents under his name, and his outstanding achievement is recognized both locally and internationally, bagging more than 60 scientific awards. Irwandi is a three-time recipient of IIUM Outstanding Researcher Awards. He is also the recipient of Asia Pacific Young Scientist Award 2010 by SCOPUS and the prestigious Habibie Award 2013 in the field of Medicine and Biotechnology.

 Sixth is Dr. dr. Satya Wydya Yenny, Sp.KK (K), FINSDV. She is a famous dermatologist and sex specialist in the city of Padang and is a reference for other doctors who are struggling in the field of skin and genitals. In addition, Dr. Dr. Wydya teaches at the Faculty of Medicine Unand with high dedication and is active in research and community service in the field they work at.

 Seventh is Dra. Ernawati, M.Pd, Ph.D. She is a lecturer in Family Welfare at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality who now serves as the Dean of the Faculty. In 1988, she graduated from IKIP Padang majoring in Fashion, on 2003 she completed her Master program (S2) at UNP majoring in Vocational Technology Education and PhD for Vocational Education in UKM Malaysia in 2016. His field of science is Food, Clothing and Makeup.
