PJBL-BASED FASHION PATTERN GRADING VIDEO LEARNING MEDIA TO IMPROVE LEARNING OUTCOMES AND LOGICAL THINKING SKILLS OF FASHION DESIGN STUDENTS

Abstract


The ability to think critically and logically in project-based learning is very important to develop, one of which is in the field of Fashion Design Education. This can be supported by various technologies in learning, but in the Fashion Pattern grading course there are no valid, practical and effective learning videos so that students have difficulty working on assigned projects independently at home. The aim of this research was to describe the validity, practicality and effectiveness of Project Based Learning-based Video Media in Fashion Pattern Grading learning. This research uses research and development (R&D) methods using the Four-D (4D) development model. The Four-D (4D) development procedure is Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The subjects of this research were students in the Fashion Pattern Grading class, Department of Family Welfare Science, Padang State University. The type of data was primary data, namely data provided by expert lecturers and students. The data collection instrument was in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was a descriptive data analysis technique, namely by describing the validity, practicality and effectiveness of PjBL-Based Video. The results obtained from this development research are as follows: (1) Produce a PjBL-based video for the Fashion Pattern Grading course (2) The validity of the PjBL-based video was declared very valid in the material aspect of the video with a total validity value of 95.67%, at the video format aspect was declared very valid with a total score of 92.30%, and the video presentation aspect was declared very valid with a total score of 91.11% (3) The practicality of PjBL-based videos based on lecturer responses was declared very practical with a total score of 97.50% and based on student responses, it was stated to be very practical with a total score of 83.59% (4) The effectiveness of PjBL-based videos was stated to be effective in improving learning outcomes, students' critical and logical thinking skills so that they can be used in learning.
