Abstract

Facial skin is the main part of the body that shows one's health. Facial skin that looks dull can be caused by various factors, including dry facial skin. One of the efforts made to moisturize facial skin is by using facial soap that contains hydrating ingredients such as protein and fat. Hermetia illucens contains quite high protein and fat. This study aims to evaluate the organoleptic properties of facial soap containing Hermetia illucens powder. Hermetia illucens powder based facial soap is a promising product due to the potential natural ingredients and possible health benefits associated with the components of Hermetia illucens powder. In this research, Facial soap is produced through a formulation process with various concentrations of Hermetia illucens powder. This research method involved the preparation of Hermetia illucens powder, making facial soap using the appropriate method, and organoleptic tests on the final product. Evaluation of organoleptic properties was carried out by involving experienced panelists who were trained to assess several sensory aspects, including aroma, color, texture, and overall impression of facial soap. The results showed that facial soap containing Hermetia illucens powder had significant variations in organoleptic properties depending on the concentration of Hermetia illucens powder used in the formulation. Increasing the concentration of Hermetia illucens powder tends to produce a more striking color change and a more distinctive aroma.
