In order to improve competence, especially in the field of hair beauty, classroom learning must be able to adapt to technology. This study aims to examine whether the development of learning media really influences the increase in student competence in the field of hair beauty in the Bachelor of Cosmetology education study program. The research method used is research development and development/R&D. The subjects in this study were 50 students of the Bachelor of Cosmetology Education Study Program. Methods of data collection using a questionnaire. The results of this study are (1) The feasibility results of animated video learning media received an assessment of 96% from media experts, 96.1% from material experts, and 94.2% from linguists. The percentage of the three experts is included in the very feasible criteria (2) Student learning outcomes towards animated video learning media obtain classical completeness of 90.6% with very good criteria and (3) Student response to animated video learning media is 93.4% with the criteria Very good. perfect criteria. These results indicate that the development of animated video learning media in hairdressing competence is very appropriate to be used as a learning medium to improve learning outcomes in the cognitive domain and obtain very good responses from students.
