Abstract
Evaluation of Indonesian traditional hair bun styling learning in Cosmetology Education study program UNJ uses standard psychomotor assessment instruments to assess student competency in Indonesian traditional. This research to produce a practice assessment instrument that is valid, practical and effective. The method uses research and development (R & D). The stages are 1) needs analysis; 2) product design; 3) design and development; 4) expert validation; 5) initial product revision; 6) limited trials; 7) revision and analysis of trial results. The data analysis technique in this research uses instrument validity tests, namely product moment correlation, instrument reliability tests using kappa coefficient by Cohen and effectiveness tests using normalized-gain test analysis. The results of the research showed that the pretest result was 72 and the posttest was 80 in the limited trial, while in the expanded trial the pretest result was 73 and the posttest was 81. The validity of the instrument was 0.838 which indicates it is valid, the reliability of the practical assessment instrument was 0.739 which shows the level of reliability of the instrument falls into the good category and the effectiveness of the assessment instrument has a score of 0.4 which has a medium level of effectiveness.
