Abstract
This research was motivated by the fact that the use of synthetic dyes in blush on cosmetics can cause negative side effects. One of the traditional cosmetic ingredients is beetroot. This research aims to see the suitability of beets as blush on in terms of vitamin C content. The suitability of beets as blush on is seen in terms of color, texture and density as well as panelists' preferences. This type of research is quantitative. The object of research is naturally extracted beetroot. Research data analysis techniques are laboratory tests, organoleptic tests that look at color, texture and density and hedonic tests. The results of the research show that beetroot contains vitamin C. Based on the color indicator, the color indicator obtained an average of 3.28, the color category was very clear, the texture indicator obtained an average of 3.14 with a smooth texture category and the density indicator obtained an average of 3.14. with the solid category. The liking indicator was 3.71 with the panelists really liking it. It was concluded that beetroot was suitable as a blush on compact cosmetic.
