Abstract

False eyelashes from suji leaf fibers are a new alternative in the manufacture of false eyelashes that have many advantages, one of which is environmentally friendly. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of false eyelashes results from suji leaf fibers for fantasy cosmetology. This type of research is pseudo-experimental research (quasi-experimental). The variables in this study are free variables (x) and bound variables (y). The data type uses primary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of observation, documentation and questionnaires. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis techniques and analysis methods. Based on the results of laboratory tests, suji leaf fiber fibers have good fiber strength with a strength parameter of 0.15%, the elasticity modulus test obtained a creep value of 0.12%, the smoothness of the fibers obtained a result of 4.29% meaning that the suji leaf fibers have good smoothness. The results of organoleptic tests found that the highest values were found in the indicator of flexibility (73.3%) very flexible, the indicator of lightness (53.3%) light, and neatness (46.6%) neat. The panelists' favorite hedonic test results (46.6%) were very favorable and the aesthetic indicators (46.6%) were very beautiful. The results of the t-test of false eyelashes of suji leaf fibers with false eyelashes of real human hair, no significant differences were found in the indicators of flexibility, neatness, favorability of panelists and aesthetics. on the indicators of waivers found a significant difference. It is recommended to subsequent researchers to continue the study by applying false eyelashes from suji leaf fibers to models with ethical tests.
