Abstract


Purpose – This study’s basic argument is to empirically investigate the readiness, adoption attitude, learning outcomes and moderating effect of challenges of toward continuity intention of ODL among Malaysia hospitality and tourism instructors.

Methods – Purposive sampling and online surveys were used for data collection. The survey constructs were adapted from established scales, and Partial-least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the study model and hypotheses.

Implication – The study’s practical insights facilitate the adoption, acceptance, and use of online teaching among hospitality and tourism instructors in the future. More so, the outcome of this study also assists policymakers in designing an effective hospitality curriculum that is flexible and well adapted to the dynamic environment in future.

Originality – This study contributes to one of the earliest evaluations of online learning by examining educators’ readiness and adoption attitude towards continuance of online teaching in hospitality and tourism courses. In addition, this research highlights essential factors that encourage instructors to adopt online teaching based on the challenges of learning models from offline to online platforms, especially by comparing their experience in teaching theoretical and practical classes.
