Abstract


Abstract

This research was carried out because of the unavailability of learning videos on the basics of beauty and spa subjects, the teaching materials used were still in the form of student activity sheets and were not structured. The purpose of this study was to determine(1) the development of learning media based on video learning on the subject matter of hand care (manicure) and nail coloring at SMK Negeri 6 Padang,(2) to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of video-based learning media for learning hand care (manicure) and nail coloring. This type of research is research and development using 4-D steps. The research population is the students of class X KC I SMK Negeri 6 Padang in the 2022 academic year, totaling 36 students. The data collection technique was carried out using a questionnaire consisting of a validity and practicality questionnaire along with pre-test and post-test questions. The data analysis technique is by calculating the video media assessment score from the questionnaire given and categorized according to the interpretation obtained and calculating the value of the pre-test and post-test questions. The media design validation results obtained are 0.8% in the valid category and 0.88 for material validation with the valid category. Practicality results were obtained from the teacher's response of 89% in the very practical category and the practicality value was obtained from the student's response of 78% in the practical category. The results of the effectiveness obtained that the percentage of classical completeness of pre-test students was 38.88% in the incomplete category and 91.66% in the post-test category in the complete category. From these results, the video-based learning media can be said to be valid, practical and effective to be used as teaching materials in the classroom. As for the suggestions that the researchers gave regarding the results of this study, the first is for teachers to be able to use this learning video media as a reference in classroom learning, for students this video media is recommended to use this video well to improve learning outcomes, for the majors in cosmetology and beauty This video media can be used during the learning process of hand care (manicure) and nail coloring.
